Rev. Dr. Woody Berry

Pastor

Photo: Woody is the one on the right, along with church members, reaching out to folks in the community with warm greetings at the Soybean Festival.

Woody arrived in Mexico as our Interim Pastor on June 1. Woody has pursued special training to help churches transition from a long-time pastorate to a new beginning that is healthy for the new pastor and the congregation. Woody and his wife Jan have served churches in Texas, Colorado, and Kentucky, and are happily pursuing their first work in the great Midwest. Woody loves preaching, teaching, and most of all being a pastor; so he is doing all of those things for us while helping us chart our way forward.

Woody grew up in Texas, received a B.A. from The University of Texas at Austin, and Master and Doctorate degrees from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. At the same time Jan completed a B.A. and M.A. in library science from The University of Texas at Austin. They have a grown son and daughter, both of whom now live and work in Austin.

Student Ministries Director

He completed the Youth Ministry program through Youth Ministry Institute – Midwest in May 2017. He is married to his wife, Vickie, who is a Budget Analyst at University of Missouri Systems. They have one son, Marcus, who is attending Westminster College.

Jennifer Benne

Financial Secretary

Administrative Assistant

Sometimes retirement brings unexpected opportunities. After completing her teaching career, Sue offered to "fill in" at the church office until a replacement could be found. On March 1, 2017, Sue was hired as the permanent Administrative Assistant and transitioned to "un-retirement." Her husband, Rick, is also an "un-retired" educator who works part-time tutoring athletes at Mizzou and drives a bus for the local school district. The Boyces enjoy traveling, visiting their two grown children and their spouses, spoiling their grandchildren, and seeing to every whim of their pampered pooch.
